About HeartLand Dental Hygiene
Dental Hygienist - Diamond Valley AB
This Dental Hygiene Practice has existed in Diamond Valley, Alberta since 2007. It was formerly called Mountain View Dental Hygiene. Heartland Dental Hygiene opened its doors in June of 2022, with Corinne Story as the new owner of the practice.
Growing up as a competitive figure skater, Corinne Story was very physically active and health conscientious. Her interest in health resulted in her becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in 1989 at the University of Alberta. Her 35 years of practicing dental hygiene includes approximately 10 years as an RDH in British Columbia. While she was practicing in British Columbia, she completed a Degree in Dental Science at the University of British Columbia in 2000. She completed a Masters in Kinesiology (figure skating) in 2011, at the University of Alberta, after placing 3rd at the World Masters Figure Skating Championships in Obertsdorf, Germany, in 2007. Being a former figure skating coach, she loves working with children.
In addition to practicing clinical dental hygiene, Corinne has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Dental Hygiene at the University of Alberta and as a Counselor for the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta. She currently serves (since 2022) on the hygiene committee for the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine. Corinne has experience working in a periodontist’s office (gum specialist), and loves to work with periodontal clients.
Corinne is fifth generation Canadian, and was born in Edmonton, and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta. She is proud of all of significant contributions her ancestors have made to modern day Canada. For example, her Great Great Uncle is Joe Drinkwater, a prospector and pioneer of the Port Alberni area, who named Della Falls on Vancouver Island. Her Great Uncle is the recorded Ukrainian Musician, Peter Picklyk, whose band played at her parent's wedding. Her grandparents farmed in Manitoba, one close to Winnipeg, and the other, close to Grandview. Corinne intends to continue with her family spirit of pioneering by implementing the latest evidence-based dental hygiene knowledge and technology into the care of her clients.
Heartland Dental Hygiene is a fee for service practice. However, dental insurance forms will be filled out to be mailed by clients to their insurance providers for reimbursement.
